Old or damaged tyres reduce grip and increase stopping distance. Replacement becomes necessary when repair is no longer safe.
1. Low tread depth
If tread is too low, the tyre cannot grip well in rain or emergency braking.
2. Sidewall bulge
A bulge can indicate internal tyre damage and should be inspected immediately.
3. Cracks and cuts
Sidewall cracks are common in heat and old tyres.
4. Frequent punctures
If a tyre gets punctured repeatedly, inspect the tread and sidewall condition.
Safety note:
Do not use a tyre with a visible sidewall bulge for highway driving.
